Department on hand for Presentation
In November 2009 The Department of AL was on hand as they and Chapter 2205 visited DR Jack Hawkins, Chancellor of Troy University to present him his MOPH Membership card and credentials. A Vietnam Veteran, Dr Hawkins was wounded while serving as a US Marine and is now Chancellor of Troy University. Mission Statement The mission of the Military Order of the Purple Heart is to foster an environment of goodwill and camaraderie among Combat Wounded Veterans, promote Patriotism, support necessary legislative initatives, and most importantly, provide service to all veterans and their families. MOPH Vision Statment "MOPH is to undertake a Proactive Representation in all forums of public opinion that will consistently seek to improve status and stature of it's Veteran Members, their dependents, families and survivors." September 2009 the Department of AL was represented by L to R Lee Alford Dept. Chaplain, JJ Aretz JR Dept. Commander, Robert C. Jones, Dept. Adj also present was Lonnie Wadsworth Past Dept. Commander and current Dep.t Service Officer, at the Birmingham Zoo in honor of the Wounded Warriors Day by passing out Patriotic information and membership applications.
